Trip to Alaska was fun and challenging. Never being around little ones for two weeks at a time was to say the least very interesting. I did not get there for Kai's birth but what a bundle of love and sweetness (like his sister Haley). I stayed with Ernie's parents (who are wonderful) the first night and next day we took Joselynn and Kai home. Joselynn did amazing for just having a baby.
it was a learning curve for all of us and Haley could not wait to be the big sister. She was and is just wonderful with her baby brother.
Haley and I got to go the toy store one day and pick out a doll and a doll bed. she was very excited (me more) everyone knows how much I like dolls. We also played many hours on the floor with poly pockets which were a new thing to me but we had partys and vacations and had lots of fun just being together. She is very animated and very sweet. After seeing Joselynn again I see where the animation comes from. Shes adorable and has a great imagination with building things and coloring etc. We made cookies and she did just a great job with the decorations. Glad Joselynn and Ernie let her do her own thing and be expressive.
We did lunch at a Korean restaurant which was interesting but the Thai food was my favorite.
we did chop up moose meat one day which I enjoyed as Delores and I got to vist all day and the weather was just outstanding. The moose tasted exactly like burger to me. I could not tell the difference.
Ernies parents are great hosts and there is always food and tea with home made honey which Louie tinkers with that was delicious. Always fun stories and just all around great people.
Joselynn and I managed to get a few things done at her house but the stay could have been extended a while to get all the projects done. The carpet is now clean and the showeer is up and running again.
Kai is a wonderful little boy and the only time he would fuss is when he was hungry and needed a change. He was a trouper going everywhere with us and getting out in the sun. I look forward to seeing him as he changes. Lucky boy has wonderful parents and a beautiful sister who just loves him.
Last night we had fresh duck that Ernie shot that afternoon and sheep steaks with fresh beets and other wonderful foods. What a send off for me sitting with Joselynn, Ernie, Louie, Deloris, Kai and Haley having dinner..
6:00 am off to the airport and heading home. Flight seemed long and I was excited to see Lou and the dogs and my house. At heart Im a home body and loved seeing my yard and grass and just my daily surroundings. Lou and the dogs were just as happy to see me and now we will prepare for Winter with the hauling of wood and cleaning up of the yard. Life is good.
